Starting a New Journey
My complaints about not being able to post pictures, etc, turned out to be one of a whole list of out-of-the-ordinary things that were beginning to happen to me, like putting on my clothes inside out and backwards, bumping into things and people, all my typing on my left hand was getting all jumbled, I lost my way in the subway station and found myself in places where I hadn't planned to go. Gerard was noticing that I was walking slower and could not multi-task, and was losing focus. I had terrible pain in my head at times. We finally went to talk with my family doctor together wondering whether I had a stroke. After CT scans, and other tests, it was determined that I have a few rather large lesions/tumors on the right side of my brain. I've been in hospital for the past few days. They put me on steroids which helped to release the pressure on parts of my brain, which improved things within hours. We are awaiting the results of a biopsy that was done a few days ago. So far they think it is lymphatic cancer. As soon they determine what we're dealing with, the course of treatment will be determind which might be chemo and radiation. In the meantime, we've been surrounded by love, support and care and prayer all around the world. and feel so blesed by that! I just got home from the hospital this afternoon and will try to update you some more later. So here we are embarking on something very new for us - living with cancer. We had thought our journey ws going to take us on a cruise to Alsaska late this spring or early summer - a very generous gift from our kids for our 35th anniversary! Well, we may be in the middle of chemo treatments by then. So we'll have to see when and where this new journey is taking us.
