Chemo Cleansing

good morning from my happy new home in C244! last night after all had settled down I created my own feel in my new space and now feel comfortable here again.

The nurse told me this morning
that this first round of chemo was completed yesterday, has to stay in for 24 hours and now the next two days are for cleaning my body of the toxins, which involves lots of IV and oral fluids. and that results in lots of mad dashes to the washroom . So I spent a good part of the night not quite reaching the washroom on time, IV pole more or less in tow. Quite the night ofwashing up, changing, trying to patch on a humongous disposable diaper that I found - in an effort not to get flooded out so quickly again. I must have been quite the sight with my wet clothes, twisted IV tubes, and diaper-stuffed pants! Too much information? Well, it all comes with this journey.Might as well see the fun in it.

Right now I'm going to roll over and just mellow out here in my cozy bed, letting the world go by for a little longer and it feels so comfortable! roll

when I had my kids my favorite part was the catheter-after 9 months of several trips to the bathroom every night I was happy to just sit--to bad they won't give you one of those!
got your message yesterday!

So glad you can see the humour and joke about these things! You're right, it's all part of the journey, and I'm glad you're able to be so honest about it all. This way, we really get an idea of all you're going through!!
