Learning from Others

I'm learning that I have a lot of learning to do about being a gracious patient, and about the fact that I'm not the centre of the universe at the moment. There are so many other people who have dealt with or are dealing with situations that they never expected to experience. My life has been one smooth road and I don't have much experience with adversity. Thank you for the many notes, words, e-mails, calls, and other tokens of encouragement and helps and for helping me learn in this way. I'll just share a couple of brief e-mail excerpts that were helpful today:

As your experience shows, the darkness cannot extinguish the Light, and in fact, only makes it shine all the more brightly!!!!! and another...
You can be negative and say " i have cancer " or "I have cancer,it is treatable and let God take care of the rest"
Thank you!! Love you both!

And then this evening we dropped by Mark & Rosemary's for a visit with her dad who welcomed me to the ranks of the "cancer club". He shared this with me because he found it so wonderful... Thank you, R.!

Salutation to the Dawn
Translated from the Sanskrit by F. Mennien
Look to this day!
For it is life,
The very life of life.
In its brief couse
Lie all the verities
and realities of
your existence:
The bliss of growth;
The glory of action;
The splendour of achievement;
Fr yesterday is but a
Dream, and tomorrow
Is only a vision,
But today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday
a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a
a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore,
to this day!

I really love the openness and authenticity you're bringing to this whole process. Your grace and trust is inspiring. Thinking of you often and praying that you be covered in His joy and peace in all of this. :)
