Family Ties

We enjoyed a lot of family-togetherness- time the last few days on our Ottawa area road trip and had so much fun! Here I was on the Ottawa Canal with my daughter, brother, niece, sister, and brother-in-law coming together from the S. Dakota, Toronto and Ottawa and Australia directions. We don't know all that much about each others' day-to-day lives and yet we all felt at home together because we're family. We talked, laughed, skated, shoved aeach other around, rolled on the ice like little kids, gave each other rides in the little sled we rented, shared stories of God's faithfulness in our lives, ate beaver tails and had hot chocolate, saw partially melted snow sculptures, shared family memories, had lunch at the fish market. There's something special about family ties. They cross all boundaries and distance. It feels great to belong!
