We're Back from Two Great Days!

Well, it all started because I'm feeling so well and energetic and Alida was getting a little restless with not as much help needed here as she had anticpated. We felt inspired to turn this week of waiting for the biopsy results into an opportunity to do something special and to see my sister from S. Dakota who would be in Ottawa to visit her ill mother-in-law. When it began to look like this little trip was going to become a reality Alida said, "Dad you think this is going to work or is Mom going to be like a little bouncy ball (steriod energy) in a glass (in the car)?"
It was a bit overwhelming for me as I was trying to pack my stuff. Bedding into the IKEA bag was no problem, but once it came to collecting small stuff from all over the place, I just have a hard time putting that all together these days. Anyways, we got packed and were on the road. What a great feeling! Once we got into the rural area where my brother lives, we missed a turnoff and I felt totally dissoriented. Normally I'm completely oriented by map and have a pretty good idea of where I am. When we went on family trips with our family when I was a kid, my dad would hand out free road maps from the gas station, and I loved following the map. This time, I had a hard time reading our google map, my eyes were quivering a bit from the medication, it was kind of dark. I felt so overwhelmed and disoriented! Wow! I've never experienced that before. Good thing I had Alida as my Capable navigator and driver and could leave it all with her. Sunddenly I realized that God is like That! I can relax and trust and leave it all with him!
It was wonderful to be greated into my borther's home by his big bear hug! I felt safe and secure again. I was relaxing there in a huge comfortable rocker glider and sitting there fed directly into all my dreams of the last few nights.
My late sister-in-law, Bonnie, loved nature. She has little baskets and arrangements of pine cones, twigs, berries, rocks, candles, grape vine balls, seed pods, etc. all over the place. Soaking in all those natural things just "feeds my oul". It makes me feel so peaceful, wholesome and happy way down deep. It was a great place to be, in the house of my big burly big-thinking brother Bart. I loved it!
