Exciting News to Share!

I've been bursting to tell you the big news, and now I may. Gerard and I are going to be grandparents! We are so excited and this is such good news to look forward to as we go through this stretch of treatment!

Henry and Melanie are expecting in early October. Here's how they told us: We were all seated at the table, ready for dinner, waiting for Henry to come home from work. As he came in the front door we said, "Dinner's ready!"

"I'll be right there!" We heard some rummaging around in the front hall, assuming Henry was putting away his coat and back pack. As we heard him coming towards the kitchen he said, " Mom and Dad, close your eyes. (Ken was already in on this) OK, you can open them now." And there on our dinner plates Gerard and I found these baby bowls with baby spoons and a box of baby food! So that was pretty obviously an announcement that a baby is on the way. We were all so excited! And with all three grandparents together around the table we talked about who was going to be Grandpa, or Opa, or Poppie.

We are so excited and so thankful to God to hear this amazing and exciting news! Perfect timing, for all of us parents to have something so wonderful to look forward to and to motivate us through this time of illness for all of us!
