Sunday Morning

Good Sunday morning! Wishing you a good day of worship and fellowship!

I woke up a while ago to the sound of "Amazing Grace". It sounded wonderful! When I went to check where it was coming from, a nurse told me some of them are in the habbit of playing Gospel music through their computers at the nursing station on Sunday mornings. That's what we heard at home on Sunday mornings when we were kids. My dad always had hymns playing when we were getting up and preparing for breakfast and going to church.

On my exercise walks along the halls I've met a fellow walker who is such a breath of fresh air and encouragement! She's been through a very rough patch in her treatments, ending up in a wheelchair and on oxygen, but now she's walking and breathing on her own and she's so thankful that she can walk and breathe! Neither one of us has ever been ill like this before and both now realize (or maybe are just starting to) how many amazing blessings like walking, breathing, seeing, etc. etc. we have totally taken for granted all these years. So now whenever we meet we rejoice in the little things together. What a blessing and source of inspiration she is to me! Yesterday she asked me how I was doing. When I told her that it was my first day of feeling awful and tired from the chemo treatments, she acknowledged it is rough and then her face lit up with her sweet fragile compassionate smile said,"that means that the chemo is working! "

It sounds like I'm going to be here for a few more days. They still need to figure out what happened with the freezing they used for the spinal tap the other day. And they're also concerned about the panic attacks and what's causing them. Personally what I think is going on is that either the cancer or the chemo has upset the balance my alternative allergy treatments with Dr. Ravikovich had achieved over the years. If that is the case, I could be back to square one with my allergies and sensitivities when doctor after doctor shrugged their shoulders and sent me off with a prescription for tranquilizers. I'm hoping not, but at least it will give us a place to start in addressing the issue.

So with the possibility of me being out of my room for various tests and consultations, and my need for rest, please call ahead if you are hoping to visit. I'm ever so eager to visit in person or by phone, so I am my own worst enemy in knowing my limits so please help me by calling ahead so it won't get too busy for me to find time to rest and also to be sure that I'll actually be here. Thanks for all your love and prayers!
