Alida's on Her Way

As I write this, Alida is in the air on the way back to Sydney, Australia. Thanks to a three -hour vehicle trade we were all able to ride together in a van, to see her off at the airport.

It has been wonderful having her here for the past month! She was able to share in the intense and wonderful family time we've had since my diagnosis, take me on a road trip to Ottawa, set up and attend medical appointments with us, experience the merge in our household with Henry, Melanie, and Ken living here during their renovations, see how my first round of treatment went, go wig shopping together, see the amazing cancer support centre where I hope to attend some activities.and just be an amazing support and very dear daughter to me! What a blessing that she already had vacation planned for this exact month, and was just able to switch her tickets to be here for a whole month! Thank you, Lord!

The send-off at the airport was quick and happy. "See you in May!"
Yes! Alida has decided (the Lord has led her) to move back to Canada! The specific goal of moving in May has been triggered by my ilness I'm sure, but we've seen the overall decision to move back to Canada coming for a while already. Much as she absolutely loves Australia, she just couldn't get herself to sign that permanent residence form and has come to the conclusion that she wants to be back home in Canada. So this is amazing news and we are all so excited!
The next two months will be a huge transition for her, selling her car, packing and shipping her stuff, winding up her job and saying goodbye to many very dear friends. Please join us in praying for her safe journey and for this upcoming time of transition.
