Yesterday

Yesterday was a good relatively high energy day!

First of all it was Rosemary's birthday.  We feel so blessed to have her as our daughter-in-law. In preparing this post I realized that I had no recent pictures of Rosemary by herself, so I "stole" this one from her FaceBook page.  She loves party hats and organizing special celebrations, so I thought this one was perfect.  Happy Birthday (belated), Rosemary!!  We love you!

Our special outing yesterday was to the York Farmer's Market to check out their organic fruit and vegetables, and of course the garden centre out on the parking lot.  I actually didn't buy anything!  Can't believe it!  The market has changed since I last saw it, so now has less produce stands than I remember.  Not all that much organic produce either, but we did pick up some carrots, salad greens and bananas.  I'll have to go back to Loblaws, within walking distance of our house, which has quite a large organic section.

Yesterday was a "social" day, - three visitors came by and there were some phone visits too.  I loved it and even still had energy by 10 pm!

This weather is great for gardening (when it's not raining).  The weeds come out very easily.  I got our planters filled with hanging geraniums, double impatients, and some trailing plants - all of which I had saved in the basement over the winter.  They don't look the greatest at the moment, but give them a few weeks, and they'll look a lot better - hopefully.

I'm aiming to get most of the weeding and all of the planting done before my next round of chemo (probably next Tuesday).  So far the red beets, swiss chard, mesclun (salad mix) and radishes are coming up.  Still waiting for the beans and carrots to emerge.

Today we have our monthly appointment with the oncologist.  We hope to hear the results of  last Friday's MRI and whether anything will change in my treatment plan based on what they found. Will keep you posted.
