Moving Day

Today Henry, Melanie and Ken officially moved back to their own home and will be sleeping in their newly renovated bedrooms for the first time tonight.  It feels oddly empty and quiet in our house.  I will miss having them around.  At the same time it's nice to have the place to ourselves again and to re-arrange rooms back to the way they were before. And I'm sure they're happy to be back in their own home again after living here for 2 1/2 months.

I noticed today again that it doesn't take much to throw me off balance.  I thought I was feeling so well this morning, but when I was trying to be helpful with moving smaller boxes and checking around the house to see whether H & M left anything behind, all of a sudden I felt so fragile emotionally.  My brain doesn't seem to be able to handle much, especially change, these days.  O well, I still had a good day.

We just came back from a walk in the rain under our big golfing umbrellas.  It smells so good outside! I love walking in the rain!

Last night we went for my MRI and I ended up having an allergic reaction to the dye they injected.  Fortunately it was at the very end of the process, so the MRI was completed.  And thank God! the reaction was not severe, or they stopped it before it got worse by putting an anti-histamine in through my IV.  We did have to stay an hour after that for observation, which means that unfortunately we missed our small group meeting.  We're learning over and over again that we have to be prepared for changes in schedules and for the unexpected these days.

These special tulips came in a flower/plant arrangement as a gift for our 25th wedding anniversary just over ten years ago.  When they finished flowering I saved the bulbs and planted them in the garden the following fall.  Now we get to enjoy them all over again every spring!
